I  am  writing  to  update  you  that&nbsp;UIS  will  not  be  offering  on-site  Shield  COVID-19  testing&nbsp;after  June  29.  This  includes  testing  for  both  the  public  and  the  university  community.&nbsp;</div>

        <div  class="newsletter-txt">Beginning  July  1st,  UIS  CareerConnect  will  be  powered  by  Handshake.  This  is  a  vendor  change  that  will  impact  both  students  and  employees  who  either  hire  students  or  support  students’  career  development  via  jobs,  internships,  and  career  exploration  assistance.  Invitations  for  students  and  employees  who  hire  students  to  join  the  new  system  will  be  coming  at  the  end  of  June/early  July.</div>

        <div  class="newsletter-txt">The  Shield  COVID-19  testing  site  is  closed  today,  June  20,  due  to  a  laboratory  closure.  The  site  will  reopen  at  8:30  a.m.  Tuesday,  June  21.</div>

New  Student  Orientation  is  in  full  swing,  and  if  you  are  on  campus  this  summer,  I  hope  you  get  a  chance  to  get  outdoors  to  enjoy  our  beautiful  grounds.  We’re  so  proud  of  UIS  Baseball,  taking  us  further  in  the  playoffs  than  ever  before,  although  it  didn’t  end  as  we  had  hoped.  Congrats  to  the  team  and  coaches  for  this  milestone  in  our  university  history!  &nbsp;

        <div  class="newsletter-txt">“The  pandemic  impacted  all  of  the  Center’s  divisions  in  a  variety  of  ways.&nbsp;  For  the  Child  Protection  Training  Academy  it  meant  an  immediate  transition  to  a  different  kind  of  simulation  training,  one  that  had  not  yet  been  contemplated  or  piloted.&nbsp;  Amy  quickly  envisioned  a  hybrid  simulation  training  model  that  met  the  needs  of  the  DCFS  workforce,  using  a  combination  of  technology  and  in-person  interactions  transmitted  over  Zoom.&nbsp;  The  feedback  has  been  overwhelmingly  positive  and  several  states  have  reached  out  to  observe  our  model  so  they</div>
