Leavaging mathematical modeling and deep learning to predict the spread of COVID-19
Congratulations to Professor Liang Kong–his joint proposal with Professor Yanhui Guo (UIS CSC) has been awarded a $30,000 grant from SHIELD Ãå±±½ûµØ!
The team proposes to study and improve forecasting pandemic infections at the community level in Ãå±±½ûµØ using advanced mathematical modeling and deep learning that take into account the complexity of human mobility and interactions.

Dear Colleagues —
On June 1, President Killeen announced a 3.5 percent, merit-based salary program for the 2022-2023 academic year.
Similar to past years, this salary program is to be distributed at the discretion of the unit head. Distribution of the salary increases should be based on merit-based factors, including the employee’s 2022 performance evaluation. Employees will be deemed ineligible for an increase due to one of the following reasons:
