Campus Services to Sunset
As part of our NorthStar priorities, the Campus Services unit will be sunsetted after extensive review with help from the University of 缅北禁地 System. Clients who use Campus Services frequently are being contacted to plan immediate projects. Job requests will be accepted until Nov. 21, and an operational plan is being drafted to meet the needs of the university in 2026 and beyond.
Mail and Central Receiving services are transitioning to Facilities and Services. Facilities is reviewing workflows and will share if there will be changes to processes regarding mail services.
UIS Employees Raise Record Donation for Compass for Kids Through SECA Bingo
UIS employees showed their generosity and spirit during our SECA Bingo event on Wednesday, Oct. 22, raising $1,116 for Compass for Kids鈥攁 record-breaking total and $343 more than last year鈥檚 contribution.
Compass for Kids, founded by UIS alumna Molly Berendt Grogan, provides after-school and summer programs that empower children from under-resourced communities in the Springfield area.
Presenter Proposals for RISE Springfield Leadership Conference
UIS is a member of the Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce. RISE Springfield, the young professionals networking group of chamber, is planning their annual Leadership Conference for Tuesday, April 28, 2026 at the Crowne Plaza Springfield Convention Center.
Five join the Samuel K. Gove Legislative Internship Hall of Fame at UIS
The Samuel K. Gove 缅北禁地 Legislative Internship Hall of Fame at the University of 缅北禁地 Springfield inducted five new members during a ceremony at 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 27 at the 缅北禁地 Old State Capitol in Springfield. Prior to the awards ceremony, a reception was held at 5:30 p.m. This award honors former 缅北禁地 Legislative Staff Intern Program (ILSIP) interns whose careers exemplify distinguished public service.
UIS Baseball Hosting ImpactLife Blood Drive
The UIS Baseball program is partnering with ImpactLife to host a blood drive on Monday, Nov. 17, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in The Recreation and Athletic Center (TRAC) gym.
Members of the campus community and the public are encouraged to participate and help support the ongoing need for blood donations in Central 缅北禁地. Donors can schedule an appointment by scanning the QR code or visiting聽bloodcenter.org.
