Greetings! Here are some important updates and announcements from the UIS Office of Human Resources:
Annual Evaluations
It鈥檚 that time of year again! Annual evaluations for Civil Service and Academic Professional employees must be submitted to Human Resources by Friday, June 2. This year, we will be using an updated electronic version of the Annual Performance Evaluation form that incorporates many of the suggestions we received from the campus community. More information on the annual evaluation process, including best practices and Frequently Asked Questions, can be found on the Human Resources webpage. Human Resources will also conduct the following training sessions:
听Annual Evaluation Session:听All-campus virtual event to discuss new format and answer questions from supervisors and employees -听April 14, 2023, 2:00-3:00 pm.听
Supervisory Training:听Annual Evaluation training for supervisors -听April 26, 2023, 9:00-10:30 am.听听(This will be presented as part of the monthly Supervisor Development Series.)
Take Your Child To Work Day
Take Your Child to Work Day is a national event that will be held this year on Thursday, April 27, and is intended to give children a glimpse into the working world. Human Resources has partnered with units across campus to host a special event for the children and grandchildren of UIS employees that will include a campus tour, classroom demonstration, TRAC activity, and more! If you are interested in having your child participate so they can learn about working and learning at UIS, please . There are only 30 spots available for children ages 8-16, so register today!
Retirement & Recognition Ceremony
Each year, the campus community comes together to recognize colleagues who have reached years of service milestones as well as those who are retiring from UIS. Join us as we return to an in-person event for this year鈥檚 Retirement and Recognition Ceremony, which will be held in the Student Union Ballroom on Friday, April 28, from 9-10:30 am. Partnering with System HR for Wellness and Health & Wellness Fair
UIS has recently partnered with System Office Wellness to promote health and wellbeing amongst our campus community. We encourage you to join the campaign, where you can choose to compete solo or join a team for accountability and friendly competition. But hurry, as the last day to sign up is TODAY!
Additionally, consider stopping by the UIS Health & Wellness Fair held on the Quad on Wednesday, April 19, from 11 am-1 pm to learn more about different ways to manage and practice health & wellness on our campus.
