For the first time in program history, all 15 UISÂ athletic teams have earned the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Team Academic All-Conference Award. The honor, announced Monday as part of the GLVC's Academic Awards Week, recognizes teams that posted a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher for the 2024-25 academic year.
UIS was one of nine GLVC institutions to maintain or increase its number of Academic All-GLVC teams from 2023-24, and one of just five schools to earn the honor with 15 or more programs. The Prairie Stars improved from 11 qualifying teams a year ago, posting a 3.59 department GPA in the fall and a 3.55 in the spring.
The UIS women's tennis team posted the second-highest team GPA in the conference at 3.89, just behind Southwest Baptist women's tennis, which recorded a 3.90.Â
