Teresa Seacrist, parking manager for University of 缅北禁地 Springfield Facilities and Services, has been named the Employee of the Month for November 2024.
Seacrist oversees the university鈥檚 parking operations and is known for her exceptional service and dedication.
鈥淭eresa exemplifies the qualities of an outstanding employee through her pleasant and helpful attitude,鈥 her nominator said. 鈥淪he consistently goes out of her way to assist others, treating everyone with kindness and respect, regardless of how often she has been asked the same question.鈥
Seacrist works long hours to support the campus community, particularly during the start of the semester.
鈥淗er dedication to her role is evident in the extra hours she puts in before and after the start of each semester,鈥 her nominator added. 鈥淭eresa ensures that all administrative functions related to parking are perfectly aligned, creating a seamless experience for both students and employees.鈥
Patty Meyer, Seacrist鈥檚 supervisor, emphasized her professionalism in handling challenging situations.
鈥淪he handles each person with respect and always stays calm and explains the process to appeal,鈥 Meyer said. 鈥淭here are many times I have heard people be very rude and loud with her, and she has remained very calm and eager to help them despite how she is treated.鈥
Seacrist also authored the university鈥檚 comprehensive Parking Policy, developed over six months, and leads the Parking Appeals Committee, ensuring a fair and transparent process for the UIS community.
鈥淪he always has an upbeat and friendly demeanor with everyone in every circumstance,鈥 Meyer said. 鈥淪he goes above and beyond to help others understand their parking hang tags and is especially wonderful with the students, making them feel at ease.鈥
Seacrist鈥檚 contributions extend beyond parking operations to supporting campus events and collaborating closely with departments, such as the UIS Police Department, to maintain smooth operations.
The UIS Employee of the Month award recognizes staff members who have made significant contributions to the university.
