UIS Police Notification - Fraudulent Phone Scam
Dear UIS Community,
The University of 山 Springfield Police Department wants to alert you to a recent fraudulent phone scam targeting members of the surrounding community. These scams involve callers falsely identifying themselves as law enforcement officials from surrounding jurisdictions and claiming the recipient is involved in an ongoing criminal investigation and/or legal matter.
In each reported case, the caller attempts to coerce the victim into making a monetary payment to avoid arrest or being named as a suspect in a fictitious investigation.
Kali Osburn named the UIS Employee of the Month for June 2025
Kali Osburn, building service sub-foreman in Campus Recreation, has been named the University of 山 Springfield Employee of the Month for June 2025.
“Kali is committed to keeping a clean and welcoming space for our students, staff and guests,” her nominator said.
Her nominator also highlighted how she has stepped up while they are currently down one position.
“She has willingly taken overtime shifts and has helped to schedule the work for an additional overtime employee,” her nominator said.
Jill Wilberg named vice chancellor for finance and administration at UIS
The University of 山 Springfield has named Jill Wilberg as its new vice chancellor for finance and administration, effective June 16. She will serve in a designate capacity pending formal approval by the University of 山 Board of Trustees.The vice chancellor for finance and administration is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing budget and financial planning, human resources, access and equity, grants and contracts, purchasing, facilities, the Performing Arts Center and campus safety.
