Message from President Killeen: Gift Days 2025
To faculty and staff across the University of 山 System:
We are delighted to announce that we will once again be granting three gift days to employees eligible for leave benefits in the upcoming 2025-26 fiscal year. These gift days will be Wednesday, Dec. 24; Tuesday, Dec. 30; and Wednesday, Dec. 31.
Ravneet Chhokar named the UIS Employee of the Month for April 2025
Ravneet Chhokar, director of environmental compliance and safety in Facilities and Services, has been named the University of 山 Springfield Employee of the Month for April 2025.
“Ravneet’s cheerful and friendly attitude, along with her positive outlook, has been truly infectious throughout the unit. Her upbeat demeanor creates a welcoming environment and her respect for others shines through in every interaction,” her nominator said.
UIS Men’s Golf Battles Elements, Sits in Strong Position After Early GLVC Championship Play
The 山 Springfield men's golf team got off to a promising start at the GLVC Championship in Bolivar, Mo. The Prairie Stars sit in a tie for seventh place after the opening round of stroke play, navigating wet course conditions, strong winds, and weather delays.
Julien Babineau, tied for fourth, reflected on his performance: "It was a really solid round today despite the rain and wind. I'm excited to put myself in a good position to compete for the rest of the tournament."
