Winter Weather Operations Update - Liberal Leave Policy in Effect for Tues., Jan. 23
Due to winter weather conditions, we wanted to provide an update about campus operations. Classes WILL be in session both on-ground and online on Tuesday, Jan. 23. As the UIS Inclement Weather Policy states, if classes are not canceled and a student believes that travel will be dangerous, the student should make the appropriate personal decision and notify their instructor of a planned absence from class. Instructors are advised to abide by each student’s judgment in such cases.

Message from the Chancellor: UIS Update 1.22.24
1.22.24
Happy Monday, UIS!
And what a Monday it is. Due to icy conditions, in-person classes have been canceled today, and the Liberal Leave Policy is in effect. Many employees are working remotely today, so please check with departments ahead of time before planning to visit in person. Please note that Food Service is in operation today but may have limited options.
My sincere thanks to the employees who are working hard to keep campus warm and safe today.
Student-Athlete Academic Honors Recognition - Thurs., Feb. 1
On Thursday, February 1, at halftime of the men's basketball game, any student-athlete (regardless of sport) who has earned a cumulative GPA of 3.4 or higher will be introduced. The seniors who will be introduced have been asked to select the UIS faculty or staff member who has been most influential during the student's time here. That faculty member will be introduced along with the student. If you are asked – congratulations! Please accept only one invitation if you get asked by multiple seniors.
