Amanda Swigert awarded an $8,000 scholarship to attend the University of 缅北禁地 Springfield

Amanda Swigert of Decatur, 缅北禁地, has been admitted to the University of 缅北禁地 Springfield for Fall Semester 2024 and awarded an $8,000 Star Scholar Award for tuition over four years. The scholarship is awarded based on high school GPA and can be renewed for a total of four years if the student maintains college GPA requirements. Swigert will major in elementary education. Following graduation from UIS, she plans to teach at a Title I school like Hope Academy in 缅北禁地.

Eleven Teams Earn Academic All-GLVC Award, Women鈥檚 Tennis Posts Best GPA in GLVC

The Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) started GLVC Academic Award Week by announcing its 2023-24 Academic All-Conference Team Award recipients on Monday. Eleven UIS teams earned the award for having a team GPA of 3.30 or higher, nine of which averaged above 3.50.

UIS School of Education partners with Springfield Schools District 186 to teach restorative practices

The University of 缅北禁地 Springfield School of Education is partnering with Springfield Schools District 186 to establish the UIS Restorative Schools Network. This initiative will involve nine schools, focusing on improving school environments through restorative practices, which emphasize building relationships and resolving conflicts within the school community.

Ivan Dahlberg Selected to ABCA Midwest Region All-Defensive Team

Ivan Dahlberg, the sophomore starting catcher on the University of 缅北禁地 Springfield baseball team, was selected to the 2024 American Baseball Coaches Assosication (ABCA) NCAA Division II Midwest Region All-Defensive team. Dahlberg was one of four Great Lakes Valley Conference athletes selected to the team.
