UIS: Here's how we're helping address health care workforce shortage

New grant for UIS aims to reduce students’ need to purchase textbooks

"Some students at the University of Ãå±±½ûµØ Springfield will soon be spending less on textbooks. UIS has been awarded a $102,668 Open Education Resources grant from the Ãå±±½ûµØ Secretary of State that aims to reduce students’ need to purchase textbooks by promoting the use of free learning materials.
UIS to host two Juneteenth discussions later this month

"The University of Ãå±±½ûµØ Springfield Center for Lincoln Studies is holding two events later this month teaching the historical significance of Juneteenth and the struggle for Black citizenship in the state.
Juneteenth, celebrated on June 19, marks the anniversary of enslaved African Americans in Texas hearing the news of their emancipation."
UIS tabs former Pana star Olivia Lett as next women's basketball coach

"Former Pana star Olivia Lett was announced as the next head coach of the University of Ãå±±½ûµØ Springfield women’s basketball team on Friday.
She replaces Summer Quesenberry after two seasons, pending approval by the board of trustees.
