UIS English class studies video game narratives in the Esports Arena
The University of Ãå±±½ûµØ Springfield is merging technology and academics by using the campus Esports Arena in a first-year seminar led by Professor Tena Helton. The course, ENG 113: Video Games and Gaming, utilizes video games to deepen students’ understanding of narrative structure and analysis.
Since developing the course in 2014, Helton has focused first on making the class accessible for all students, particularly when it comes to gaming equipment.
UIS Men's Cross Country Set to Race at Bradley Pink Classic
The Ãå±±½ûµØ Springfield men's cross country team is set to compete at the Bradley Pink Classic this Friday, Oct. 18, at Newman Golf Course in Peoria, Ill. Following a challenging outing at the Lewis Crossover, the Prairie Stars are eager to finish the regular season strong against a diverse field of teams from NCAA DI, DII, and DIII.
The Bradley Pink Classic will feature two races for both men and women, with UI
S racing a partial squad in the Men's White Race (B Race), starting at 1:30 p.m.
Women’s Soccer to Face Tough Opponents on Road Trip
The UIS women's soccer team faces a tough road test this weekend against two of the GLVC's top teams. The Prairie Stars will take on McKendree Friday at 5:00 p.m. and No. 12 Maryville on Sunday at noon.
