Esker and Biffar Named James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Award Winners for UIS

The Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) announced Friday that senior Isaiah Esker from men's basketball and senior Brooke Biffar from women's soccer have been selected as the UIS recipients of the GLVC James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Individual Award for the 2024-25 season.

UIS Earns Program-Record 239 Academic All-GLVC Awards

The Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) announced Tuesday that UIS student-athletes received 239 Academic All-GLVC honors for the 2024-25 academic year. To receive Academic All-GLVC recognition, student-athletes must hold a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or above for the school year. A total of 4,333 student-athletes across the conference were recognized, including 203 individuals from UIS. The 239 honors were awarded across all 15 UIS athletic programs and include recognition of 36 multi-sport athletes. |

Liam Boyle Joins UIS Athletics Staff as Business Administrative Associate

The UIS athletic department has announced the hiring of Liam Boyle as its new business administrative associate. Boyle comes to UIS from Salem University in West Virginia, where he served as a member of the athletics operations staff.
In his new role, Boyle will manage the business, financial and administrative operations for UIS Athletics. He will serve as a key point of contact for both internal and external stakeholders, providing administrative support in areas such as budgeting, onboarding, reporting and team travel coordination.Â
