COVID-19 Testing Site Closed Dec. 16-Jan. 2
The SHIELD COVID-19 testing site in the WUIS building is open regular hours this week (10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday/Thursday), closed Dec. 16-Jan. 2 and will reopen at 10 a.m. Jan. 3. Compliance for those who are required to test will not be monitored during the planned closure.
UIS Police Chief Ross Owens graduates from the FBI National Academy
University of Ãå±±½ûµØ Springfield Police Chief Ross Owens has graduated as a member of the 284th session of the FBI National Academy. The graduation took place at the National Academy in Quantico, Virginia on December 8, 2022.
Owens is the second officer in department history to complete this prestigious program. Nationally, fewer than one percent of officers have the opportunity to attend the program.

Good morning, colleagues:
Campus certainly is quieter now that finals are over and students are making their way home for winter break. I hope you each are managing well through your own end-of-semester tasks and that you are preparing for some much-deserved downtime. With our university holidays and gift-days, we are off Dec. 23 through Jan. 2. This will be my last UIS Update newsletter of 2022; look for the next issue on Jan. 9.
