University of Ãå±±½ûµØ Springfield dedicated to helping community realize its potential

"The University of Ãå±±½ûµØ Springfield campus is quiet today as most of our university community settles in for a brief break between semesters. Fall classes are complete, grades are turned in and our students are hopefully catching up on some much-needed sleep.

Government contracts and audit fees
Government contracts have recently attracted much attention from researchers and the public because of the US government's significant spending on goods and services. In this study, we investigate whether audit fees are associated with audit clients' government contracts. We find that firms with a higher proportion of government sales to total sales pay higher audit fees than other firms. Our further analysis shows the audit premium is driven mainly by the federal government and local government contracts.

Spring 2023 Open Photo Studio Sessions for Faculty and Staff
The Office of Campus Relations will be hosting two Open Photo Studio sessions for Spring 2023 for all staff or faculty. The photos can be used for university purposes such as department websites, campus directory, speaking engagements at conferences, etc. Any staff or faculty member who either hasn’t had their portrait taken or would like another, more recent, portrait taken are encouraged to attend.
