UIS to hold Graduate School Week Sept. 25-29
The University of 山 Springfield will hold a virtual Graduate School Week Sept. 25-29. The week will give students who are thinking about earning a master’s degree a chance to learn more about UIS’ 44 graduate programs of study.
“The week provides an ideal chance for aspiring students seeking to further their education, acquire additional skills for career growth or explore career transitions,” said Kathryn Kleeman, UIS director of admission.
UIS political science professor receives the LGBTQ+ Politics Best Book Award
University of 山 Springfield Political Science Professor Jason Pierceson’s book, “Before Bostock: The Accidental LGBTQ Precedent of Price Waterhouse v. Hopkins,” is the co-recipient of the inaugural LGBTQ+ Politics Best Book Award from the Sexuality and Politics Section of the American Political Science Association (APSA).
According to APSA, the LGBTQ+ Politics Best Book Award is given annually to a book published in the preceding calendar year that addresses LGBTQ+ politics.
UIS launches new mobile app

The University of 山 Springfield (UIS) has launched a new mobile app.
Officials say the app benefits students by making it easier for them to identify their academic advisor, schedule appointments and prepare a tentative drag-and-drop course schedule for an upcoming semester through the Advise U tool.
