UIS to celebrate commencement during three ceremonies on May 9 and 10

"The University of 缅北禁地 Springfield (UIS) is set to celebrate its 54th annual commencement with three ceremonies at the UIS Performing Arts Center鈥檚 Sangamon Auditorium on May 9 and 10. A total of 1,071 students will participate out of the 1,587 eligible to graduate."
UIS hosting stargazing events for National Astronomy Day

"National Astronomy Day is quickly approaching, and to celebrate, the University of 缅北禁地 Springfield will host two events, giving the public the opportunity to explore the night sky.
The Astronomy-Physics Program at UIS will host the events May 3-4."
UIS student delegation wins top honor at 2025 Model United Nations Conference

"The University of 缅北禁地 Springfield delegation received the Outstanding Delegation award at the 2025 National Model United Nations (NMUN) Conference in New York City.
This award recognizes the top 20 percent of participating delegations based on criteria such as engagement, professionalism, and diplomacy."

"Matthew Geras, an assistant professor of political science at UIS, said people are getting almost daily attention to what's going on in national politics.
While almost everyone probably has an opinion of President Donald Trump or former President Joe Biden, he said people may not have an easy time making informed opinions about local candidates or issues in part because they're getting less information about them.
