I write this month鈥檚 note while listening to the wind and rain outside, watching the falling leaves, and thinking about what might come following the Presidential election. I hope that everyone that was eligible to vote did so, and feels a sense of pride in participating. Personally, I will be happy to have the election behind us, but also recognize that no matter the outcome, there will not be a magic switch that changes the political discourse and division that exists in the country.
UIS Set to Host 2025 GLVC Men鈥檚 and Women鈥檚 Tennis Championships at Velasco Tennis Center
The 缅北禁地 Springfield Athletic Department, the Springfield Park District, and Visit Springfield announced that Springfield will host the 2025 Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Men's and Women's Tennis Championships.聽The tournament, set for May 2-4 at the recently renovated聽Velasco聽Tennis Center in Washington Park, will bring top collegiate tennis talent and fans from across the GLVC to Springfield.

UIS Mock Trial team wins first rounds of 2024-25 season
The University of 缅北禁地 Springfield Mock Trial team secured victories in its first rounds of the 2024-25 season at the 缅北禁地 State University Invitational, held Nov. 1-3. The event featured 30 teams from seven states and is recognized as one of the most competitive invitational tournaments leading up to the regional rounds in February 2025.
